Students from all over the world gathered in Paris at the “Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Santé Publique” (EHESP) to exchange opinions and visions on current public health issues. This year’s theme was Migration and Health.
As a PhD-student at Centre Virchow-VilIermé I was very fortunate to be a part of this three day event as a member state delegate representing the Czech Republic. It gave me the opportunity to experience the format of a diplomatic event and to learn and debate on this primordial topic with passionate young scientific minds.
I was inspired by the diversity and quality of the lectures by Dr. Santino Severoni (World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe), Dr. Maria Melchoir (Médecins du Monde, France) and by the speech of Kawa Alhaj, a Syrian National, who shared his personal perspective with the audience. The students’ committee did a great job organizing this conference and they made this event a lasting impression for all participants. Claire Carpenet
