Since April 2103, Antoine Flahault has served as codirector of the Centre Virchow-Villermé for Public Health Paris-Berlin; he is Professor of Medicine and Biomathematics at the Paris Descartes University.
A full professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva since 2014, he also heads the Institute for Global Health on the Campus Biotech.
In his role as a professor for public health, in 2002 he initiated the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Santé Publique (EHESP, French School of Public Health) in Rennes and served as its vice chancellor from 2007 to 2012.
He has conducted research into mathematical modeling in epidemiology and was head of the WHO Collaborating Center for Electronic Disease Surveillance.
During the chikungunya epidemic in the Indian Ocean he coordinated and provided scientific guidance to an interdisciplinary crisis management team (Inserm Prize 2006); he was the scientific advisor for the exhibition “Epidemic” at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie (Paris, Rio and Sao Paulo) and is a corresponding member of the National Academy of Medicine in Paris.
He is codirector of EAGHA (European Academic Alliance for Global Health).
By October of 2014, he had published 240 scientific articles on Medline.
