In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty in October 2013, an agreement was signed by Sanofi, in which this multinational pharmaceutical company pledged to make a donation of two millions euros for the financing of two university chairs for the Centre Virchow-Villermé of Public Health Paris-Berlin. It was established that one chair would be created in Paris, and the other one in Berlin. The importance of this event was emphasized by both parties, Sanofi and the Centre Virchow-Villermé.
SANOFI CHAIR PARIS
In line with Sanofi’s intent, the Paris Centre is offering open, multilingual online educational opportunities in the form of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) about topics in public health, such as biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health sciences, health policy management and many more. Distance learning offers the possibility to train individuals in public health who do not have access to a traditional university education. The Centre specifically addresses the lack of training opportunities in Francophone countries and is proud to be able to allow anyone to benefit from the experience and knowledge of accomplished experts in the field.
The financial support from Sanofi enables the Paris Centre to invite candidates who are internationally renowned for their particular expertise as chair holders.
Candidates for the Sanofi Chair should know that the financing of their stay by Sanofi is not linked to any expectations or requirements regarding the content of their MOOCs and lectures.
